Last Assembly of the Year.

Hello bloggers. Yesterday It was the end of year Assembly. It was at at the Workingman's club.  Have you ever been to the workingman's club. First, There was A Kapa Haka song. Then Te Kakano sang a song about a Fish. A few minutes later Te Mahuri did their song, The Greatest. Then Rimu did a Pantomime. It was called Panto Pandemonium. Week of Careers.

Hello bloggers. This week the year 7/8s are going off to camp and the year 5/6s are staying in the classroom to go on a slide about careers. Every subject you do you get a letter. For reading you get a B, for Maths you get O, for writing you get an N, for making a thing related to your job you get an U, for summing your job you get an S. Aniamls on pet day.

Hello bloggers. A few days ago we had pet day. Everyone brought an animal. The animal  brought  was a stuffed animal which as a Lion who I called Roar. My sister also brought  a stuffed animal  which was an old bear who she called Grandma Bear. What do you bring to pet day? At 12.p.m the whole school went out on the field and got into two groups of house colours to go around the field and do activities. There was a sackrace, a potato and spoon race, gumboot throwing, you had to be careful as gumboots went flying through the air in all directions. The activities went to 1.45.p.m. Then the live animals turned up. There were Cats, Dogs, Rabbits,and a Turtle. We all went home tired but happy after a great day. Goodbye from Max.

Pet day Sand saucers ans vegetablws.

Hello bloggers. Today it is pet day. First sand saucers and vegetable sculptures were made. Mine was a sand saucer and the flowers I used covered all of the sand. My sand saucer had one red rose, one white and  some  were white and one was pink. The roses all came from our garden. After we finished the sand saucers we went to put them on the table to be judged. Have you ever made a sand sand saucer or vegetable sculptures? One person made a parrot in a cage using vegetables, the cage was made out of a butternut pumpkin and the parrot was a cucumber. Goodbye from, Max.

Yadlust at The Chrichirchsyphnoi ochreatra.

Hello bloggers. Yaldhurst  went to the christchurch  symphony orchestra. It was at the Christchurch town hall and  a few schools were going to the performance.  There were a countless amount of songs being played by the orchestra. was you're school at the Chritschurch  symphony orchestra? The orchestra were played songs for a whole hour before it ended. There were some that were from movies like a harry potter one and star wars one. Fun At The A And P Show.

Hello bloggers. Last Thursday, Rimu went to the A And P Show. We were in groups of three or four. I was in a group with Sebastian and Brayden int it. The adult in our group was Vicky. First we went and looked at the vehicles that were on display at the A and P show. Then we looked at the animals that had been brought to the A and P show.   Here is a picture of the group I was in. Have you ever been to the A and P Show? Nearing  lunchtime we went to see El Grego the magician doing his tricks. We saw that a couple of the other groups had come to see the show as well!  At 11.40 a.m we went to the big arena to have our lunch and watch the horses racing. Maori Directions.

Hello bloggers. Rimu have been learning about Maori directions.,  Whakamua is right. Backwards is Whakamuri. Left is Whakamaui. Right is Whakamua. All of rimu made different treasure hunts and when we were finished got another person from the class  and one tried to figure out what the path to the pretend treasure chest was and  the other person gave the directions. There were three of the slides to do and there was a Fourth treasure map to make which was the slide where you put your working out of the other persons treasure map. Vistiing The Town Hall.

Hello bloggers. Today Yaldhurst Model School went to the town hall to see the symphony orchestra. It is a group of people who go around and p play different songs at different places. The songs the played were amazing! Have you ever seen the symphony orchestra? The songs usually were a couple of minutes long! We listened  to all the songs for an Hour before it ended. Then we went to Margaret Mahy playground to have lunch and a play on the playground. First I went on the poles. Wild eyes fun.

Hello bloggers. This blog post is about our year 5/6 project, Wild eyes. For people who do,NT know what I am talking about, wild eyes is a place where you can do activities an upload them to the wild eyes website. Have you ever done Wild Eyes at your school? The first activity  I did was called Insane plane. In that activity you  have to make a couple of paper planes and see which one flys the furtherest. Here is a picture of the finished Paper Plane I made. It flew 6 Metres. The other 2 planes I made went about 3 Metres each because they were chunkier and the other plane was  longer and slenderer so it flew further than the other 2. Funny Panto pandemonium.

Hello bloggers. This blog post is about a Pantomime show Rimu  have been practising. It is about a group of kids who go to a place called panto land because there is an evil witch. Hello bloggers. This  week Rimu  learned about Computational thinking. It is the language  computers think if you don,t know what I,m talking about. There aye the  number 1 2 4 8 and 16 but instead of thinking  those numbers it thinks of that number of dots.  First we learned about computational Thinking. Exciting Athletics Practise.

Yaldhurst Model School are having Athletics Day soon. It was meant to be today but it was postponed to Wednesday because the ground was wet, so we could not do some of the activities that we usually do because it would be dangerous to do them, because everything is so wet. The thing I enjoy is trying  all the different activities for the athletics. My favourite is the High Jump because it is fun to see how high you can jump. What is your favourite Athletics activity? Choosing the novel study.

Hello bloggers. Last week we each chose a book  for our novel study. The book  I chose was called Private Peaceful. It is about a man who's name is  the title and he he is remembering the past and what happened to him in it.  Have you ever done novel study at your school? After that we had to go and make a flipgrid  about the novel study book we chose.  The  we started to make google docs or google slides to make the places we will keep our work for the next 6 or 7 weeks. Fun Holes

Hello bloggers. My name is Max and I am here to tell you about Holes which is a  story about a boy called Stanley Yelnats who goes to a place called Camp Green lake because he was accused of stealing some shoes. My favourite character is called Sam who sells onions, he is a funny person.   Have you ever read Holes and if so what is your favourite character? Today we are going to watch the movie Holes since we have  finished reading the book.  I am looking forward to seeing if the characters look like the characters in my mind.  I liked holes because it was funny. The chartacetrs are Toad, Badger, The Water Rat and the Mole.  A summary of the story would be: the Ferrets and weasels steal Toads house so Toad, Badger, The water Rat and Mole go and chase the Weasels and Ferrets away. The book is written as a play. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are adults in it. This is the story of when their children all start Hogwarts. Harrys son Albus is chosen by the sorting hat to go into slyhterin. Albus spends the whole story wondering if he is in the right house and maybe he should be in gryffindor. Albus becomes good friends with Scorpius who is the Son of Draco Malfoy.

Click, Click, Went My Knitting Needles.

Hi bloggers, I have never seen anybody knit and I never thought I would. Every Tuesday this term the knitting needles and wool  come out. Mrs VH is trying to teach us to knit! I feel like my knitting needles  are  out of control because  my knitting needles have a mind of their own. Dear reader/s. In my maths I learnt that if there were 10 Red blocks, 3 Green blocks and 1 Blue block in a bag, it would be ,more likely for me to pull out a Red block. Hello reader/s. A head with two faces was looking at the dark and green day when along came a rainbow who threatened to torture the head to a banana. Suddenly the head took control  his angryness and bit the rainbow which turned her into an evil wizard. The wizard put a spell on himself which made made him shrink smaller until he was invisible because of his tininess. The wizard tried to climb on the head but was getting smaller. Holes.

Dear reader/s. On the first  day back from the school holidays we found a box with the word clues on it. We read the clues which were two shovels, Three lizards, one outlaw and one treasure chest. We wondered what they were for so we opened the box and found out that it was a book called Holes. We had the back cover read us by the teachers. Then the teachers read the first chapter of Holes. It is about a boy called Stanley Yelnats who is at  camp greenlake. Stanley is there because he stole shoes but he did,NT know he was stealing them. I knew it was going to be exciting. Christchurch.

Hello reader/s. We went to the new library, then we walked for an hour before  we got to the Margaret Mahy playground and we ate lunch there and played, then walked back to the new library and  got into groups and made a Lego city. It was fun to make the Lego city. First we drew a plan of our city on paper showing were the roads and buildings would be. Harry Potter is due to start his fifth year at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However what Harry is about to discover in the new year school will turn Harry,s world downside up. Hello readers. Last friday we played Football. We won the Football Game. I was attacking in the first half. The other school scored first  but we were scoring immediately after them. They were very competitive. When Rhys took over in my place I was the motivator. The coach was warming us up and was very supportive.

1. Hello fellow readers. I,m going to tell you about football. Last Friday we played football and the Friday  before that. We lost both times. I was sad but did not care that we lost both times. On Tuesday we did a hearing test.  We did it by going  onto a Youtube video. Search up cool hearing test then do the second one down. I felt relieved about not having to go to a hearing clinic. Magical dream.

Hello readers. Wow what a week! First I found it hard to get 230 words when I was doing my long  write. No matter how hard I tried I  couldn't get past 143. Oh no! I was writing about the Dream Giver. We watched a really  interesting youtube video. Get the link to this youtube video (go to vimeo). We then had to draw what we think the Dream Giver looked like. I used google drawing to create him. He was as green as apples. He had arms like spaghetti. My dream giver gave me a Wizard dream.
